1855 vote of no confidence against the government of the Earl of Aberdeen

The 1855 vote of no confidence against the government of the Earl of Aberdeen occurred on 9 January 1855 when the House of Commons voted in favour of a select committee to enquire into alleged mismanagement during the Crimean War. George Hamilton-Gordon, 4th Earl of Aberdeen treated the vote as a confidence vote and resigned leading to the appointment of Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston.[1]
